Still a beautiful lady with plenty of attitude, Julie entertained us with her stories of working with Gene Wilder, touring with Derek Nimmo, and cycling across Cuba with Fern Brittain for charity.

We had a great day at RHS Wisley Garden last month where 10 budding travel writers honed their skills under the watchful eye of journalist Deborah Stone. We learned how to write about travel, as well as how to blog and tweet, and gained some very healthy advice on pitching to newspapers and why we shouldn't expect to become overnight millionaires.
